Tour Description: Situated between China and Japan, Korea has many historical and contemporary ceramic traditions. While Japanese ceramics and pottery are widely known and appreciated, Korean technical skills, aesthetics, and traditions lie behind much of the work being produced there. This tour provides a chance to experience urban and rural Korea, and encounter the hospitality and generosity of the Korean people. You’ll see museum collections of incredibly diverse historical objects, as well as pottery by a diverse range of contemporary artists, and have a chance to purchase them and add them to your collection. You’ll eat some fantastic meals, from night market stalls in Seoul, countryside restaurants with local guest and many side dishes, to inspecting one of Korea’s fermenting institutes where different soy, miso, and vinegar products are created.. Probably some of the most delicious seafood you’ll experience in your life, and so much more. You’ll travel by dedicated micro-bus, hiking, and airplane on our journey through and around Korea. Especially people who aren’t interested in ceramics still have a fantastic time on this tour, as there is so much to do and see. Your guides speak English, Danish, Japanese, and Korean and have experience leading tours around Korea. You’ll have a great time, and at the end of the trip we’ll have a little party, so celebrate and remember all the fantastic experiences that we’ve had together.
