Gregory Hamilton Miller, Owner and Guide
Tour leader Gregory Hamilton Miller was apprentice to Shimaoka Tatsuzo in Mashiko, Japan, where he discovered a love for Japanese ceramics. Later, he studied Japanese Culture and Language while working towards a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology, focusing on craft communities in Japan and Scandinavia. He is also interested in aesthetics, architecture, and particularly language. Gregory is the owner of Tolne Gjæstgivergaard in Northern Denmark. Together with Yukie Tonuma of Eco Conscious Japan, he’s designed these special adventures in Japan and Korea for a groups of up to 16 persons.
Gregory is adept at Japanese, Danish, and English languages and will be guide and interpreter throughout the trip. He has experience visiting the destinations, guiding Scandinavian groups, and has support from local experts and assistants during the tours to both countries.

Yukie Tonuma is the founder and owner of Eco-Concious Travel, Japan. She has been in the international travel business for many years. She has also been employed in JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) and Wabi-Sabi travel, prior to leading her own company. She regularly leads Japanese tours to Scandinavia, and is a popular virtual guide for online tours of the same region.
Yukie is an adept and experienced organizer and guide of individual travelers throughout Japan, specializing in the Tokyo and it’s surroundings. She speaks Japanese and English fluently.

Emma Christensen has been enthused about Japan, pop-culture, anime, and meals for more than a decade. She is fluent in Danish, English, and basic Japanese. Emma helps with social media, website development, organization, and other important tasks for making sure that Ceramic Adventures Travel can deliver outstanding experiences to you.
